Having established its reputation as the number one ferry operator, P&O Irish Sea is concentrating on its road skills by putting its operational staff through a Minibus Driver Assessment Course.
The course, which is designed and assessed by Transport Training Services Ltd, aims to enhance minibus driving standards and promote safer operation of minibuses.
P&O Irish Sea use minibuses regularly to transport passengers to and from the ships and to assist passengers with disabilities travelling on the Larne to Cairnryan and Larne to Troon services.
James Esler, Sales and Marketing Manager, P&O Irish Sea comments, “ P&O Irish Sea recognise that our service begins as soon as the customer arrives at the port. The safe and comfortable transfer of the passengers to and from the ships is an essential part of that service and it is with this in mind we have teamed up with Transport Training Services. We can be confident that our staff are fully competent to provide the first class P&O Irish Sea service which our customers have come to expect.”
Aidan Allen, Driver Trainer at Transport Training Services Ltd, explains, “We are delighted that P&O Irish Sea has confirmed its commitment to staff training and development by signing up to the Minibus Assessment Course. Everyone who successfully completes this course will be totally proficient in operating the company minibuses thus ensuring the safe and comfortable transfer of passengers to and from their ships.”
